But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cosme Rivas couldn't finish the play. Hugo Abajas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Sazon in the 21st minute of the match. Hugo Abajas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Haitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cosme Rivas to strike the kick off in the second half. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 54th minute, but Hugo Abajas got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Bastadebufoneria FC hanging dry this time. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casimiro Rayman during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 93 minutes into the game, Tomás Lonzo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Belgrano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bastadebufoneria FC the free kick.
