Unzué's Humberto Kiliz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Illart in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of FC José C. Paz booed when Unzué was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saul Gaueko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Unzué's zone, Bernardino Senio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Kiliz came out of the goal and Bernardino Senio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Ezequiel Illart put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Humberto Kiliz. 23 minutes into the match, Unzué's Jaime Florian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nemesio Olando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vladimiro Jobo let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 29th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. Vladimiro Jobo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Olando having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Illart in the 44th minute of play forced Unzué's goalkeeper Humberto Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Illart struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Humberto Kiliz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC José C. Paz. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Arturo Frasco fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC José C. Paz's protests and gave Arturo Frasco a yellow card for diving instead. Ezequiel Illart might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Kiliz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ezequiel Illart ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Bernardino Senio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 72 minutes, Feliberto Guerau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Unzué and the FC José C. Paz players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bernardino Senio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Humberto Kiliz made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Bernardino Senio sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, Saul Gaueko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Jaime Florian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Olando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
