Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Formosa booed when Sarmiento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Rosalio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Virgilio Chepe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Chepe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorio Locaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Erasmo Obano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Locaio made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Virgilio Chepe sent off a good shot on target. Victorio Locaio was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Virgilio Chepe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Virgilio Chepe really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erasmo Obano in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorio Locaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Virgilio Chepe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Locaio having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sarmiento's Zacarias Manuelo got a free kick in the 16th minute. Erasmo Obano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Victorio Locaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Formosa's Manuel Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Rosalio in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Sarmiento's Victorio Locaio got control of the ball when Virgilio Chepe tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Zacarias Manuelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarmiento's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Formosa the free kick. In the 40th minute, Zacarias Manuelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Chepe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Benjamin Rosalio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarmiento's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Rosalio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Federico Gaufred made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Adrio in the 52nd minute of play forced Sarmiento's goalkeeper Victorio Locaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Virgilio Chepe came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Formosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgilio Chepe couldn't finish the play. Erasmo Obano struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Victorio Locaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formosa. Formosa were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Sarmiento's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sergio Ponciano took the corner. After taking down the ball on Formosa's corner Alejandro Kusko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Victorio Locaio quite easily take care of the ball. There was no doubt that Formosa were the better team. Formosa's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
