Virgilio Chepe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Bernat having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Julian Beltza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piquense Futbol Club and the Formosa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roberto Bernat made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Virgilio Chepe sent off a good shot on target. Virgilio Chepe struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Roberto Bernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formosa. Saturnino Sendoa kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Sergio Ponciano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ruben Gitano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgilio Chepe came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Roberto Bernat could save by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Obano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Martin Txeru's late challenge caught a Formosa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Piquense Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saturnino Sendoa to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute of the match Sergio Ponciano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roberto Bernat showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Virgilio Chepe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Roberto Bernat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Formosa's Ambrosio Adrio got a free kick in the 91st minute. Piquense Futbol Club's Roberto Bernat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Obano in the 93rd minute of play.
