Spectators: 7202 (Terracing: 5403, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfredo Azevedo started the match with the kick off. Alvaro Tirso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lagash booed when Navia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Hondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lagash's Donato Niguel couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Navia. Navia's Alvaro Tirso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Azevedo in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Rafael Peruxu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagash's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Navia the free kick. Rafael Peruxu kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Navia's Luisito Mikelar got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fidel Savion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Ramond, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the Lagash defense, Luisito Mikelar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fidel Savion. The Lagash fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fidel Savion should have stopped the shot. Alfredo Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Alvaro Tirso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Navia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Navia:s Alvaro Tirso showed great skill when he stopped Donato Niguel:s penalty. In the 31st minute, Donato Niguel made a precise shot to the right of Alvaro Tirso. Navia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Luisito Mikelar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Lagash getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Godofredo Elodio hit a great ball. If Luisito Mikelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Navia's Alvaro Tirso got control of the ball when Godofredo Elodio tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alfredo Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Lagash fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Azevedo couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With an all-out effort, Navia's Fidel Savion threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gustavo Ramond, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alfredo Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godofredo Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Tirso having to interfere. If Alfredo Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Navia's Hilario Cordarin got a free kick in the 69th minute. Lagash's Godofredo Elodio got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pascual Platon hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th match minute, Navia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Dolfos to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Ramond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Savion having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Navia's Luisito Mikelar made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fidel Savion was left in no man's land by his defense there!
