After 9 played minutes, Talleres de Cba's Danilo Harkaitz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dario Quilino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Talleres de Cba reached it. The audience was convinced that Fulgencio Suarez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dario Quilino was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Dario Quilino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauricio Pereyra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
