In the 2nd minute, Aquiles Maore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Tortugas's Blas Esdras got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tortugas's goalkeeper Silvestre Pueblo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tortugas's Silvestre Pueblo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Maore in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Tortugas's Teofilo Roldanillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Neto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ovidio Perpinya came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Tortugas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Perpinya couldn't finish the play. Blas Esdras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Neto having to interfere. Miguel Faron struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Silvestre Pueblo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estudiantes de La Plata. 23 minutes into the game, Prudencio Luzea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tortugas the free kick. Prudencio Luzea kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Blas Esdras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Felix Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Herensuge in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to Estudiantes de La Plata getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Aquiles Maore hit a great ball. If Ovidio Perpinya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Apolo Sauveur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Blas Esdras notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Estudiantes de La Plata's Felix Neto. Felix Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felix Neto came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Tortugas's Alfredo Paskal. But to his dismay, Alfredo Paskal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Miguel Faron made the kick off in the second half. Blas Esdras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Neto having to interfere. Ovidio Perpinya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Felix Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Ovidio Perpinya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tortugas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Perpinya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tortugas's Ovidio Perpinya got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ovidio Perpinya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Neto having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Prudencio Luzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Victoriano Nafarroa in the 67th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Tortugas's Ovidio Perpinya. In the 68th minute Ovidio Perpinya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Ovidio Perpinya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silvestre Pueblo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Garin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the game, Teofilo Roldanillo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tortugas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estudiantes de La Plata the free kick. After 78 played minutes Tortugas got a freekick which was hit by Teofilo Roldanillo. Blas Esdras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Neto having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Esdras came free, but Felix Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estudiantes de La Plata's Prudencio Luzea got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Prudencio Luzea off the ground. Blas Esdras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Neto having to interfere. Tortugas's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
