After having played for 11 minutes, Constantino Phelipe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Douglas Haig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Constantino Phelipe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Fertus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcial Florian in the 13th minute. Isidoro Perrando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Mariano Urtzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Urtzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Perrando in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Isidoro Perrando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mariano Urtzi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Douglas Haig's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Florian came free, but Joel Fertus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Fertus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Montez in the 24th minute of play. If Isidoro Perrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Constantino Phelipe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Urtzi having to interfere. Haroldo Monico took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mariano Urtzi. Mariano Urtzi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Constantino Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidoro Perrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Urtzi having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Douglas Haig's Constantino Phelipe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mariano Urtzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcial Florian was the one to do the kick off. Mariano Urtzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Perrando in the 57th minute of play. If Constantino Phelipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Monico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Urtzi was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Mariano Urtzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Perrando in the 63rd minute of play. Joel Fertus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Valente in the 64th minute of the match. Mariano Urtzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
