Miguel Faron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Faron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Iker Montay managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Estudiantes de La Plata's Javier Garin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Miguel Faron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de La Plata's zone, Bruno Gombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Neto came out of the goal and Bruno Gombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's Iker Montay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Miguel Faron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patricio Hats in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Faron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cayetano Ieltxu fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's protests and gave Cayetano Ieltxu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cayetano Ieltxu hit a great ball. After 48 minutes, Segundo Piearres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv and the Estudiantes de La Plata players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's Segundo Piearres got a free kick in the 48th minute. Justo Ugaitz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 49th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iker Montay. Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Faron made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Garin in the 53rd minute of play forced Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's goalkeeper Iker Montay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Segundo Piearres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Gombal in the 58th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Aquiles Maore got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Bruno Gombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Prudencio Luzea hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Iker Montay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Faron in the 70th minute of play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Miguel Faron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's Iker Montay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Miguel Faron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de La Plata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Faron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Estudiantes de La Plata's Felix Neto got control of the ball when Patricio Hats tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cayetano Ieltxu was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 89th minute, Justo Ugaitz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv's Iker Montay didn't even have to move. After 90 played minutes Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Gombal. The Estudiantes de La Plata fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Estudiantes de La Plata's Javier Garin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pinguinos de Comodoro Riv players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Estudiantes de La Plata.
