When Cornelio Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bernardino Rivadavia's protests and gave Cornelio Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Centinelas F.C booed when Bernardino Rivadavia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Furman struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Santo Cibran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Centinelas F.C. Santo Cibran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Nicolas Furman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Centinelas F.C were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 minutes, Marcelo Louis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bernardino Rivadavia and the Centinelas F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card.
