After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Aldo Lonzo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monte Olivia's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldo Lonzo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Jorge Oton sped through Gowland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Etxeberri. After the first half Monte Olivia were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tomás Pierres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alberto Tolino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Restu in the 58th minute of play forced Monte Olivia's goalkeeper Tomás Pierres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Eguen hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Monte Olivia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
