The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Opilano during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of ASCO FC booed when Gowland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Opilano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Gowland's Daniel Etxeberri got control of the ball when Bernardo Botello tried to sneak it across the goal line. ASCO FC's Bernardo Botello got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Ireno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Txartiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 16th minute of the match Ariel Opilano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ariel Opilano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 17 played minutes Gowland got a freekick which was hit by Ariel Opilano. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Bernardo Botello got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Daniel Etxeberri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Botello in the 22nd minute. If Bernardo Botello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Ireno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Txartiko, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Benicio Seguinus's late challenge caught a Gowland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benicio Seguinus helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, one of ASCO FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ASCO FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Botello got free with Daniel Etxeberri in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Etxeberri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Lorien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Etxeberri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Lorien's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fidel Txartiko made a kick off. In the 55th minute Hermengildo Restu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Ireno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Txartiko struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Leon Ireno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gowland. Fidel Txartiko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gowland's Daniel Etxeberri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Lorien in the 63rd minute of play. Daniel Etxeberri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Botello in the 68th minute of the match. Daniel Etxeberri was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lorenzo Indartsu hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Gowland's Eduardo Urti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leon Ireno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, ASCO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Modestio to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute of the match Baltasar Torres shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Etxeberri showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Gowland's Eduardo Urti tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fidel Txartiko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Leon Ireno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of ASCO FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gowland:s goal. When the match was over Gowland could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ASCO FC throughout the match.
