Clemente Licerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Elizardo having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Octavio Mero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Pibes Regresan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CORRIENTES F.C the free kick. In the 13th minute, Octavio Mero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nestor Elizardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Licerio in the 15th minute of the match. With his leg Nestor Elizardo managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when CORRIENTES F.C's Florentino Illart fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Los Pibes Regresan's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Ospetsu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fermin Eusko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Bartolo Llope came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Los Pibes Regresan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartolo Llope couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Florentino Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot. CORRIENTES F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Florentino Illart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Elizardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes in the game, Clemente Licerio fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nestor Elizardo having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Daniel Michael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CORRIENTES F.C and the Los Pibes Regresan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Los Pibes Regresan booed when CORRIENTES F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Michael didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Florentino Illart got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eleuterio Llorian during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eleuterio Llorian hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Clemente Licerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Elizardo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Los Pibes Regresan's Alfonso Amato got a free kick in the 48th minute. In the 51st minute of the match CORRIENTES F.C got a corner. Los Pibes Regresan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ceferino Favila ran over to the corner to take the kick.

Fermin Eusko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Ospetsu in the 57th minute of play. The CORRIENTES F.C fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when CORRIENTES F.C's Florentino Illart looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fernando Ospetsu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florentino Illart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Elizardo having to interfere. Bartolo Llope recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the game, Edgardo Cordarin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Pibes Regresan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CORRIENTES F.C the free kick. After 79 played minutes Los Pibes Regresan got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Ospetsu. CORRIENTES F.C's Florentino Illart got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Los Pibes Regresan's zone, Clemente Licerio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Elizardo came out of the goal and Clemente Licerio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Clemente Licerio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CORRIENTES F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Nestor Elizardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Illart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Pibes Regresan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
