The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Marciano Leizarraga managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Gaelicos's Jacinto Gilabert fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Iker Txurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iker Txurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marciano Leizarraga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 minutes, Adrian Ospetsu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaelicos and the C.A. Martin Guemes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.A. Martin Guemes booed when Gaelicos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Ospetsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Ricardo Sengrat managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Martin Guemes's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Sengrat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Argenis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaelicos's Jorge Argenis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Sengrat in the 27th minute of play. Baltasar Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th match minute, Gaelicos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Ospetsu to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Baltasar Elivareo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 minutes, Jacinto Gilabert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaelicos and the C.A. Martin Guemes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jacinto Gilabert hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Baltasar Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Txilar during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gaelicos's Jacinto Gilabert got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iker Txurio charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iker Txurio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gaelicos's Iker Txurio got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Gaelicos's goalkeeper Jorge Argenis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltasar Elivareo. Marciano Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Gilabert in the 62nd minute of the match. Jacinto Gilabert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marciano Leizarraga having to interfere. Marciano Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Gilabert in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damian Matthew during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes C.A. Martin Guemes got a freekick which was hit by Damian Matthew. Casimiro Selmo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Gaelicos's Jorge Argenis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Gaelicos from getting a goal against them. Baltasar Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marciano Leizarraga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Gilabert went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Baltasar Elivareo might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Argenis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baltasar Elivareo ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaelicos's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
