Martin Guemes's Marciano Leizarraga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Emmanuel in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, gimnasia y esgrima LP's Gogo Steven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marciano Leizarraga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marciano Leizarraga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gogo Steven, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute.
