Baltasar Elivareo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mercedes's Eliseo Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Sengrat in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to Mercedes getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Alfonso Delfino hit a great ball. Eliseo Peli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Elivareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Baltasar Elivareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Peli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Mercedes defense, Baltasar Elivareo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseo Peli. The Mercedes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseo Peli should have stopped the shot. If Wilfredo Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Baltasar Elivareo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Mercedes booed when C.A. Martin Guemes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Jobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Baltasar Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Mercedes's Eliseo Peli got control of the ball when Baltasar Elivareo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, C.A. Martin Guemes's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Erdiano came free, but Marciano Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anacleto Francho succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. After 63 played minutes Mercedes got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Lluis. In the 65th minute Modesto Jobo managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Marciano Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Ceandro in the 69th minute of the match. Wilfredo Ceandro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Marciano Leizarraga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltasar Elivareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Ricardo Sengrat fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Eliseo Peli, passed just outside the right post. In the 86th minute Ricardo Sengrat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Peli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, C.A. Martin Guemes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Jobo to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute Isidro Erdiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marciano Leizarraga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. C.A. Martin Guemes walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
