The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Los buitres getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Gilabert got free with Guillermo Nahia in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Los buitres's Guillermo Nahia got control of the ball when Jacinto Gilabert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iker Txurio in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guillermo Nahia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Iker Txurio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaelicos's supporters rose to their feet, but Iker Txurio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Nahia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute of the match, Iker Txurio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Guillermo Nahia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Gaelicos's Genaro Salvatore got a free kick in the 44th minute. Jacinto Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guillermo Nahia having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Jacinto Gilabert took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guillermo Nahia. Guillermo Nahia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Los buitres's Guillermo Nahia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iker Txurio in the 92nd minute of play. Octavio Munio's late challenge caught a Gaelicos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octavio Munio helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Los buitres:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gaelicos:s goal.
