Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gogo Steven kicked off to start the match. Filiberto Ugaitz charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filiberto Ugaitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcelino Tavio made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Jacinto Gilabert sent off a good shot on target. After 20 played minutes gimnasia y esgrima LP got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Ugaitz. Jacinto Gilabert came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcelino Tavio could save by the left post. After 22 played minutes gimnasia y esgrima LP got a freekick which was hit by Romulo Colas. Jacinto Gilabert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Marcelino Tavio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gogo Steven kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaelicos's goalkeeper Jorge Argenis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacinto Gilabert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Gaelicos booed when gimnasia y esgrima LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romulo Colas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Alfonso Emmanuel succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 51st playminute. Jacinto Gilabert might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelino Tavio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Gilabert ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelino Tavio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Gilabert in the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Gaelicos booed when gimnasia y esgrima LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Steven didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Jacinto Gilabert made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. gimnasia y esgrima LP's Marcelino Tavio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 87 played minutes Gaelicos got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Ospetsu. 89 minutes into the match, Gaelicos's goalkeeper Jorge Argenis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Emmanuel. When Adrian Ospetsu fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaelicos's protests and gave Adrian Ospetsu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Gaelicos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Ospetsu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in gimnasia y esgrima LP's zone, Jacinto Gilabert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Tavio came out of the goal and Jacinto Gilabert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Gaelicos lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
