Bernardino Esquipula took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alejandro Leizarraga. Alejandro Leizarraga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Javier Isadore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alejandro Leizarraga was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. CASTELAR FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Peruanton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernardino Esquipula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alejandro Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Isadore in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, CASTELAR FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardino Esquipula came free, but Alejandro Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardino Esquipula in the 34th minute of play forced CASTELAR FC's goalkeeper Alejandro Leizarraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Newpi getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Bernardino Esquipula hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Bernardino Esquipula left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newpi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Severiano Llorienzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Leizarraga having to interfere. The CASTELAR FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Newpi were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardino Esquipula to strike the kick off in the second half. Donato Rojelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Peruanton in the 55th minute of the match.
