The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Deportivo Liniers getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Deportivo Liniers's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Bordat came free, but Justo Jayvier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Anacleto Bordat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Vasco's late challenge caught a Gaypón AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Vasco helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Liniers's Vicente Vasco got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute of the match Ariel Orain sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Justo Jayvier skillfully saved the ball. After 19 minutes, Alvaro Frisco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Liniers and the Gaypón AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alvaro Frisco kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Gaypón AFC's Anacleto Bordat got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonel Chago hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jesus Guib got free with Gilberto Vito in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anacleto Bordat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Jayvier having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Everardo Sagrario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gaypón AFC's zone, Jesus Guib stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Vito came out of the goal and Jesus Guib tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaypón AFC's Anacleto Bordat got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anacleto Bordat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Justo Jayvier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justo Jayvier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everardo Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Paul stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gaypón AFC's Gilberto Vito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Paul in the 52nd minute of play. Anacleto Bordat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Jayvier having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gaypón AFC's Ildefonso Etxatxu got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute of the match Mauro Rubio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilberto Vito skillfully saved the ball. Anacleto Bordat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Justo Jayvier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 minutes of play, Deportivo Liniers's Vicente Vasco made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilberto Vito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Victor Paul might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Vito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Paul ran back to his position shaking his head. Deportivo Liniers's Victor Paul got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Jesus Guib's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Vito was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Deportivo Liniers's Jesus Guib sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Vito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Victor Paul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Gilberto Vito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Deportivo Liniers had won after a very even match.
