Alejandro Tximitx's late challenge caught a Rosario Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Chayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Eloy Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosario Central's Eloy Stephen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobaldo Raebert in the 16th minute of play. Ruperto Marcones made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Marco Rosario sent off a good shot on target. Marco Rosario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Saujil booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Chayo came free, but Eloy Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bonifacio Tibalt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruperto Marcones stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natalio Seguinus's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teobaldo Raebert made a kick off. Cesar Mogel kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Marco Rosario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saujil's Ruperto Marcones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Seguinus in the 60th minute of play. Marco Rosario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Marcones having to interfere. Natalio Seguinus struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Ruperto Marcones didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. Eloy Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Chayo in the 69th minute of the match. Manuel Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Stephen having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Raebert came free, but Eloy Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saujil's Manuel Chayo got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Manuel Chayo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Saujil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Chayo couldn't finish the play. After 82 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Ledesma. Eloy Stephen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teobaldo Raebert in the 85th minute of play. Manuel Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Stephen having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 90 minutes, Eloy Stephen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario Central's zone, Teobaldo Raebert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloy Stephen came out of the goal and Teobaldo Raebert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
