The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Epifanio Olo came out of the goal and Marcelo Orland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th match minute, Verónica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Izotz to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Rosario Central defense, Casimiro Domenec kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eloy Stephen. The Rosario Central fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eloy Stephen should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 27 minutes into the game, when Nereo Oso put in a rough tackle. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rosario Central! The goalkeeper, Eloy Stephen, was totally fooled by Verónica FC's Casimiro Domenec, who 29 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Casimiro Domenec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, Verónica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Izotz to maneuver through the defense. In the 38thth minute of the game Pablo Palos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rosario Central's Eloy Stephen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Verónica FC's Jorge Silviano got a free kick in the 40th minute. Bonifacio Tibalt scored 2-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Epifanio Olo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Eriberto Izotz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eriberto Izotz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Casimiro Domenec came free, but Eloy Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eriberto Izotz came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Verónica FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Izotz couldn't finish the play. Eloy Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clodoveo Frisco in the 96th minute of the match.
