The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Mateo Montrel put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Leonel Lobo. Manuel Pirro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Leonel Lobo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateo Montrel in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonel Lobo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Desiderio Maties came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the VILLALONGA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Desiderio Maties couldn't finish the play. If Filomeno Galsino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Martino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desiderio Maties, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, Atlético Corrientes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonzo Paez to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 25 minutes, Filomeno Galsino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VILLALONGA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Galsino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gonzalo Leizarraga fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VILLALONGA's protests and gave Gonzalo Leizarraga a yellow card for diving instead. Danilo Larpe walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Manuel Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Corrientes's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Lobo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filomeno Galsino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, Atlético Corrientes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Larpe to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Desiderio Maties made the kick off in the second half. Dante Martino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desiderio Maties in the 51st minute of play.
