Deportivo El Cid's Martin Onofre got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Silvestre Dayam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Onofre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Quilmes's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Onofre came free, but Sixto Urtun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Augusto Fernandes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quilmes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo El Cid the free kick. Augusto Fernandes hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Sixto Urtun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Onofre, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Onofre was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Isidoro Taurino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fausto Natanael came out of the goal and Osvaldo Cloyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo El Cid's Fausto Natanael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Musko in the 67th minute of play. Silvestre Dayam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 75 minutes, Arnaldo Musko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quilmes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Musko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fausto Natanael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Musko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Silvestre Dayam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Urtun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Onofre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sixto Urtun came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo El Cid's Silvestre Dayam. But to his dismay, Silvestre Dayam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Quilmes's zone, Martin Onofre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Urtun came out of the goal and Martin Onofre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo El Cid played a much better game than Quilmes and deserved their victory. The Quilmes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
