Ariel Napier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Urritz in the 17th minute of the match. Ariel Napier came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Volcán's Elias Macario. But to his dismay, Elias Macario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Fabio Camerino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Volcán's Pablo Abeitia got control of the ball when Abelardo Tadzio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute of the game, Humberto Jordy landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 27 minutes into the game, Iker Fidele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Volcán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Choto FC the free kick. Elias Macario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Napier having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Omar Urritz in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Napier saved Choto FC from getting behind. After having played for 42 minutes, Abelardo Tadzio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Choto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Tadzio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Macario struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ariel Napier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Volcán. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Elias Macario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Volcán's Elpidio Baristo got a free kick in the 57th minute. Volcán's Pablo Abeitia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Tadzio in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Urritz got free with Ariel Napier in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, Abelardo Tadzio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Choto FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Tadzio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo Abeitia was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Omar Urritz struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Ariel Napier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Volcán. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Elias Macario got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Fabio Camerino got his second yellow card in the match during the 85th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 86 played minutes Choto FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Camerino. When Elias Macario came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Volcán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Macario couldn't finish the play. Omar Urritz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ariel Napier made a huge save. Despite being the better team, Volcán failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
