When Gaston Godoy fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Choto FC's protests and gave Gaston Godoy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Choto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaston Godoy to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leo Precioso in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Uzuri saved Vander United from getting behind. If Leo Precioso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Tadzio's late challenge caught a Vander United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Tadzio helped the player get up and apologised. If Anibal Gorosti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

A collision led to Choto FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fabio Camerino hit a great ball. Anibal Gorosti might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Napier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anibal Gorosti ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 72nd minute of the match Ciro Lucila shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ariel Napier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Choto FC booed when Vander United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Fe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Choto FC's Arsenio Donio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vander United. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Abelardo Tadzio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Choto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Tadzio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Uzuri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erubiel Reyes during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Erubiel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vander United's goalkeeper Gustavo Uzuri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Choto FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Choto FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
