Amado Luzaide ran back to his position shaking his head. Amado Luzaide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Goren having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Ricardo Sidoro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los pinos and the C.A. RIVER PLATE players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Ricardo Sidoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los pinos's Ceferino Goren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Luzaide in the 23rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Amado Luzaide managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. RIVER PLATE's supporters rose to their feet, but Amado Luzaide was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ceferino Goren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amado Luzaide in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ceferino Goren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionisio Estevon got free with Vladimiro Larpe in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vladimiro Larpe was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Tadeo Ezkerra capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tadeo Ezkerra really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Marciano Egun kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los pinos's goalkeeper Ceferino Goren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tadeo Ezkerra made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Sidoro in the 53rd minute of play forced C.A. RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Vladimiro Larpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Constancio took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ceferino Goren. Ceferino Goren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ceferino Goren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amado Luzaide, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Amado Luzaide fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Oscar Constancios short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Ceferino Goren to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Amado Luzaide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ricardo Sidoro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Los pinos's Ricardo Sidoro got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Amado Luzaide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernan Umbruso charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernan Umbruso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute, Hernan Umbruso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Dionisio Estevon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladimiro Larpe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3.
