If Benigno Valentine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Benigno Valentine made a precise shot to the right of Ceferino Goren. Los pinos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeo Ezkerra to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Rosario Balompié 1889's Ceferino Goren threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Simon Remicio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Arsenio Garoa fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rosario Balompié 1889's protests and gave Arsenio Garoa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Los pinos booed when Rosario Balompié 1889 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Garoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Dionisio Estevon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Simon Remicio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rosario Balompié 1889 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
