The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Dorrego's Guaberto Jakue sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apolo Toribio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 9th minute when Teofilo Mendiko elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Guaberto Jakue notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Mijayi F.C.'s Apolo Toribio. Apolo Toribio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Mijayi F.C. booed when Dorrego was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florentino Galtero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aristides Henry stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Higinio Barea's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Teofilo Mendiko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Apolo Toribio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaberto Jakue who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Apolo Toribio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 48 minutes of play, Dorrego's Guaberto Jakue made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apolo Toribio was left in no man's land by his defense there!
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Higinio Barea made a kick off. After 54 minutes of play, Dorrego's Teofilo Mendiko made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apolo Toribio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 65th minute, Teofilo Mendiko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Apolo Toribio was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Higinio Barea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apolo Toribio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teofilo Mendiko scored 9-0 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Apolo Toribio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 90 minutes, Higinio Barea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mijayi F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Higinio Barea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Mijayi F.C. defense, Teofilo Mendiko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apolo Toribio. The Mijayi F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apolo Toribio should have stopped the shot. Teofilo Mendiko struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Apolo Toribio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dorrego. 98 minutes into the match, Dorrego's Guaberto Jakue sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apolo Toribio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Eustaquio Nerio fell near the penalty area in the 99th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dorrego's protests and gave Eustaquio Nerio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Dorrego getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Eustaquio Nerio hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dorrego fully deserved thier win.
