After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Alfonso Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Virreyes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulgencio Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Aristides Madaleno fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lyon FC 's protests and gave Aristides Madaleno a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Lyon FC 's Aristides Madaleno got a free kick in the 6th minute. Virreyes FC's Benicio Indar got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Benicio Indar notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lyon FC 's Fulgencio Valente. Fulgencio Valente was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fulgencio Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Sayveon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Alfonso Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benicio Indar in the 18th minute of play. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Teodosio Birjaio sped through Lyon FC 's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fulgencio Valente. Benicio Indar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Valente having to interfere. Flavio Aurken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulgencio Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Birjaio in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Alfonso Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fulgencio Valente was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Teodosio Birjaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Virreyes FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Lyon FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Madaleno. Alfonso Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Valente having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Birjaio in the 62nd minute of play forced Lyon FC 's goalkeeper Fulgencio Valente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fulgencio Valente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodosio Birjaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Prospero Sayveon struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Fulgencio Valente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virreyes FC. In the 71st minute, Benicio Indar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fulgencio Valente. The goal made the score 0-4. In the 81st minute, Valentin Otsoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lyon FC booed when Virreyes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benicio Indar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Prospero Sayveon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Valente having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodosio Birjaio in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fulgencio Valente prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfonso Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fulgencio Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virreyes FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
