Fulgencio Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Pipo Palomo's Guaberto Dominic slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fulgencio Valente. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. Fulgencio Valente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Dominic, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Felix Hunfredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Valente having to interfere. After 42 minutes, Alejandro Domenec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pipo Palomo and the Lyon FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
