With a little luck, Modorra FC's Astor Filipo got control of the ball when Ismael Txeru tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Ismael Txeru managed to get in a good position for a shot. El triángulo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Txeru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Filipo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimiro Confesor's late challenge caught a Modorra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimiro Confesor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Vladimiro Confesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the game, Humberto Ofelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Modorra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El triángulo FC the free kick. Zeledon Hibai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ismael Txeru didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 37th minute. El triángulo FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After 40 played minutes Modorra FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Ofelio. In the 42nd minute, El triángulo FC's Zeledon Hibai ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Astor Filipo. Astor Filipo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Astor Filipo was a little too slow when Zeledon Hibai got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingo Cristos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Astor Filipo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Txeru in the 52nd minute of play. Astor Filipo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Hibai in the 53rd minute of play. Hector Precioso made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Gualterio Jerrold sent off a good shot on target. El triángulo FC's Hector Precioso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Cristos in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Modorra FC's zone, Ismael Txeru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Astor Filipo came out of the goal and Ismael Txeru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ismael Txeru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Astor Filipo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. If Zeledon Hibai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Zeledon Hibai sped through Modorra FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Astor Filipo. After a defensive mix-up in Modorra FC's zone, Zeledon Hibai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Astor Filipo came out of the goal and Zeledon Hibai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
