The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zeledon Hibai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ismael Txeru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guido Orixe having to make a save. 19 minutes into the match, Los Vasquitos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Hibai came free, but Guido Orixe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Los Vasquitos FC defense, Ismael Txeru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guido Orixe. The Los Vasquitos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guido Orixe should have stopped the shot. If Ismael Txeru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guido Orixe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Hibai in the 27th minute of play. Osvaldo Otsoa kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Los Vasquitos FC's Hilario Argider got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zeledon Hibai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Orixe having to interfere. If Zeledon Hibai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, El triángulo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Tallia came free, but Hector Precioso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jimeno Tallia to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Zeledon Hibai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guido Orixe. Los Vasquitos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zeledon Hibai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Los Vasquitos FC's zone, Zeledon Hibai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guido Orixe came out of the goal and Zeledon Hibai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the game, Ismael Txeru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Guido Orixe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. El triángulo FC's Vladimiro Confesor got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Jimeno Tallia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Vasquitos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Tallia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Vasquitos FC's goalkeeper Guido Orixe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hector Precioso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jimeno Tallia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 77 minute of play. Vladimiro Confesor's late challenge caught a Los Vasquitos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimiro Confesor helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El triángulo FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Vladimiro Confesor hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in El triángulo FC's zone, Jimeno Tallia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hector Precioso came out of the goal and Jimeno Tallia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Zeledon Hibai came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the El triángulo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeledon Hibai couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute Ismael Txeru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Orixe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hilario Argider got free with Hector Precioso in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vladimiro Confesor kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Los Vasquitos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
