The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saavedra's Wilfredo Bieito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Nerio in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Saavedra getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Arsenio Sanchez hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pataduras FC's Arturo Urki tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Luisito Obeko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Bernebe having to interfere. Arsenio Sanchez struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Silverio Bernebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saavedra. Luisito Obeko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Haroldo Perico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saavedra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Perico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Haroldo Perico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 53 minutes, Haroldo Perico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saavedra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Perico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silverio Bernebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Wilfredo Bieito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Nerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was beautiful to see Pataduras FC's Arturo Urki in action when he in the 68th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! If Roman Nerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pataduras FC booed when Saavedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Saavedra's zone, Nicanor Laurin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Bieito came out of the goal and Nicanor Laurin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pataduras FC's Roman Nerio got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Luisito Obeko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saavedra's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Obeko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silverio Bernebe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silverio Bernebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisito Obeko in the 93rd minute of the match. 95 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Basualdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saavedra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pataduras FC the free kick. Saavedra were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
