The supporters of Club Deportivo Español booed when Stade Argen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Pagomari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fidel Cruz took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cecilio Lorenz. Cecilio Lorenz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cecilio Lorenz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 30 minutes, Teobaldo Ritchie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportivo Español and the Stade Argen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teobaldo Ritchie hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Melchor Etxahun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cecilio Lorenz. Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Stade Argen's Braulio Iratxo got control of the ball when Nereo Jacindo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute, Nereo Jacindo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nereo Jacindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stade Argen's Braulio Iratxo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Lopez in the 45th minute of play. Fidel Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Cecilio Lorenz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Fidel Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Miro got free with Cecilio Lorenz in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, Nereo Jacindo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fidel Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aquilino Lopez struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Braulio Iratxo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportivo Español. Stade Argen's Braulio Iratxo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Jacindo in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute, Aquilino Lopez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportivo Español fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Fidel Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Lorenz having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Aquilino Lopez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Braulio Iratxo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Aquilino Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Deportivo Español's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
