The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Epifanio Cordarrol charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Epifanio Cordarrol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Veremi Fultra got a freekick which was hit by Epifanio Cordarrol. Albano Txordon succeeded in the game's 6th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Fidele in the 13th minute of play forced Veremi Fultra's goalkeeper Generoso Lorenz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Elvio Montxo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Veremi Fultra's protests and gave Elvio Montxo a yellow card for diving instead. Elvio Montxo kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Generoso Lorenz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Txordon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Florencio Ihazintu could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Generoso Lorenz however easily saved by the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Generoso Lorenz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Generoso Lorenz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Balendin in the 24th minute. Generoso Lorenz made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Filomeno Bartolome sent off a good shot on target. Florencio Ihazintu came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Generoso Lorenz could save by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Veremi Fultra's goalkeeper Generoso Lorenz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florencio Ihazintu. If Isidro Gora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Generoso Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Bartolome in the 34th minute of play. Veremi Fultra's Isidro Gora got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicanor Inocente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albano Txordon to make the kick off. Generoso Lorenz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Balendin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the game, Albano Txordon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Generoso Lorenz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd minute of the game, Leonardo Balendin landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The supporters of Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield booed when Veremi Fultra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Cordairo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 66 minutes, Florencio Ihazintu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florencio Ihazintu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Epifanio Cordarrol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Egun having to interfere. After 82 minutes, Isidro Gora mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Veremi Fultra and the Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. Generoso Lorenz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Ihazintu in the 89th minute of the match. Isidro Gora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Egun having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Fidele. Florencio Ihazintu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Albano Txordon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Albano Txordon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Generoso Lorenz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield had won after a very even match.
