An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Menendo in the 57th minute of play forced Club Atl. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Godoy couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Godoy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Uriel Egun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle sounded Candelaria left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Atl. Vélez Sarsfield.
