Merlo Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legionarios FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Merlo Plate fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Legionarios FC a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Omar Tadzio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Merlo Plate's Ismael Paublo. 1-0. In the 14th minute of the match Mario Hartz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ismael Paublo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Samuel Medero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Merlo Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Lico to maneuver through the defense. When Samuel Medero came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Legionarios FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Medero couldn't finish the play. Samuel Medero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Benito Abechuco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 31st minute, Samuel Medero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ismael Paublo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 33rd minute, Arnoldo Francesco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Samuel Medero came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Legionarios FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Medero couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Merlo Plate's goalkeeper Ismael Paublo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Medero. After 44th play minutes Gilberto Azubeli shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Ismael Paublo and just under the crossbar into goal. Arnoldo Francesco hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inocencio Abel was the one to do the kick off. Samuel Medero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Legionarios FC booed when Merlo Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Azubeli struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ismael Paublo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legionarios FC. 57 minutes into the game, Inocencio Abel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Adolfo Furtado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Legionarios FC booed when Merlo Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Hegoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, Samuel Medero made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Paublo. Merlo Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Arnoldo Francesco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael Paublo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Azubeli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnoldo Francesco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Adolfo Furtado made a huge save. Ismael Paublo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Azubeli in the 85th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Gilberto Azubeli cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Ismael Paublo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Legionarios FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
