The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But to his dismay, Amancio Pietro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moises Haimar during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of El chairaje fc booed when NY Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Haimar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Iratzeder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filomeno Hanni in the 14th minute. NY Red Bulls's Tomas Iratzeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amancio Pietro in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match El chairaje fc got a corner. NY Red Bulls's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Everardo Austin ran over to the corner to take the kick. El chairaje fc's Everardo Austin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomas Iratzeder in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 19 played minutes El chairaje fc got a freekick which was hit by Eustacio Ondino. If Nunez Quintyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nunez Quintyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Kepa having to interfere. Nunez Quintyn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braulio Kepa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Julio Transito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NY Red Bulls fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Filomeno Hanni scored 2-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Iratzeder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute, Filomeno Hanni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El chairaje fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Amancio Pietro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

54 minutes into the match, Filomeno Hanni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomas Iratzeder. NY Red Bulls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filomeno Hanni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Amancio Pietro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Tomas Iratzeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nunez Quintyn succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-2 in the 67th playminute. If Filomeno Hanni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amancio Pietro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Iratzeder having to interfere. Amancio Pietro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomas Iratzeder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Tomas Iratzeder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustacio Ondino, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Amancio Pietro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Iratzeder having to interfere. If Amancio Pietro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Filomeno Hanni put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tomas Iratzeder. The crowd rose to their feet as Julio Transito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Braulio Kepa. That made the score 5-3 in the 91 minute of play. In the 95th minute Filomeno Hanni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Iratzeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Filomeno Hanni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 98th minute of the match Moises Haimar completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Moises Haimar a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to NY Red Bulls getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Moises Haimar hit a great ball. 100 minutes into the game, Filomeno Hanni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El chairaje fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NY Red Bulls the free kick. The supporters of NY Red Bulls booed when El chairaje fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 100 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Hanni didn't get a good kick on the ball. El chairaje fc's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
