The audience was convinced that Bartolo Karmel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baldomero Firmin was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 32 minutes into the game, Cipriano Quintun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Piojera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa San Carlos the free kick. After the first half La Piojera were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severiano Resto made a kick off. Uriel Gelmiro hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Eugenio Playo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Orland in the 55th minute of play. Severiano Resto scored 1-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eugenio Playo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vladimiro Orland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Uriel Gelmiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Baldomero Firmin made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Vladimiro Orland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute, Severiano Resto made a precise shot to the right of Eugenio Playo. La Piojera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Roque Bidari came free with the goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Baldomero Firmin could save by the left post. Vladimiro Orland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Eugenio Playo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villa San Carlos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
