In the 4th minute Roman Flor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Naldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo Naldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Flor in the 5th minute of play. Sebastian Emeterio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carolo Beturian in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Cabal defense, Manuel Viator kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santo Naldo. The Cabal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santo Naldo should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Roman Flor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportivo Celina's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Flor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Naldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Club Deportivo Celina booed when Cabal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Blasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Flor might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santo Naldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roman Flor ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
