After recieving a nice pass, COLON DE SANTA FE's Victorio Tibalt tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 9 minutes, Ciriaco Cordareo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. COLON DE SANTA FE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciriaco Cordareo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Benitez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Joel Benitez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eleuterio Libertad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Mitxaut in the 22nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the COLON DE SANTA FE defense, Abelardo Edorta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Oriol. The COLON DE SANTA FE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Oriol should have stopped the shot. Abdelnasser Morceli kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Eleuterio Libertad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Mitxaut, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dante Mitxaut made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Cordareo in the 53rd minute of play forced Santurce's goalkeeper Eleuterio Libertad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorio Lehior hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the game, one of Santurce:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 71st minute there was a penalty for COLON DE SANTA FE. Victorio Tibalt stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eleuterio Libertad. 1-1. COLON DE SANTA FE's Ciriaco Cordareo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santurce's Eleuterio Libertad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Cordareo in the 85th minute of play. After 89 minutes, Abdelnasser Morceli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santurce and the COLON DE SANTA FE players grew even worse after the yellow card. But to his dismay, Ciriaco Cordareo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Abelardo Edorta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Sebastian Oriol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
