Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After 5 played minutes Club Atletico River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Chuan. Severo Guerau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Atletico River Plate's Hector Nalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Guerau in the 16th minute of play. In the 21st play minute David Lartaun came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hector Nalo. 1-0. If Severo Guerau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zonda's zone, Severiano Dorio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Benitez came out of the goal and Severiano Dorio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Club Atletico River Plate's Hector Nalo got control of the ball when David Lartaun tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Severo Guerau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Lartaun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Nalo having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severo Guerau to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, David Lartaun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zonda's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Lartaun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Lartaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 58th minute Severo Guerau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Nalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Nalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Guerau in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Alfredo Urbes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zonda's Augusto Estavan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 65th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Club Atletico River Plate. Severo Guerau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hector Nalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Hector Nalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Lartaun, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the Club Atletico River Plate defense, David Lartaun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hector Nalo. The Club Atletico River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hector Nalo should have stopped the shot. When Roman Pudes fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zonda's protests and gave Roman Pudes a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Lartaun in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hector Nalo saved Club Atletico River Plate from getting behind. 3-0 became the score in the 92nd minute when Severo Guerau elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
