The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. After 74 played minutes, Millonarios's Mauricio Nafarroa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celedonio Firme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Alhuampa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Alhuampa's Augusto Egoitz got a free kick in the 77th minute.
