Roberto Policarpio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Fortineros's Leonel Froylan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roberto Policarpio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 23rdth minute of the game Isidro Chaime who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortineros's Iker Tajo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Isidro Chaime was extremely unlucky when he, in the 25th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 26th minute Isidro Chaime shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Tajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute Leonel Froylan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Policarpio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, MadnesSH's Ubaldo Olivar got a free kick in the 34th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Leonel Froylan made the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Cleto Gizon in the 56th minute really tested Roberto Policarpio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 63 minutes into the match, MadnesSH's goalkeeper Roberto Policarpio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severo Jurgi. In the 65th minute, Aldo Guzman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 69 minutes, Leonel Froylan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortineros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Froylan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Severo Jurgi came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Fortineros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severo Jurgi couldn't finish the play. Fortineros's Iker Tajo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Bittor in the 74th minute of play. The Fortineros supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fortineros would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
