After a defensive mix-up in FC Cancerbero's zone, Saverio Rios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herminio Cordaro came out of the goal and Saverio Rios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Arnulfo Ipar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anibal Vincente. Hoy Fútbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnulfo Ipar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saverio Rios in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herminio Cordaro saved FC Cancerbero from getting behind. 34 minutes into the match, Ricardo Bermudez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Herminio Cordaro. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Tximitx stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Ricardo Bermudez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoy Fútbol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Bermudez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Hoy Fútbol Club getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Alfredo Moreno hit a great ball. Fermin Txomin shot from long distance in the 61st minute, but Anibal Vincente was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Herminio Cordaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Bermudez's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. The supporters of FC Cancerbero booed when Hoy Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Maradona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnulfo Ipar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Anibal Vincente when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of FC Cancerbero:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hoy Fútbol Club:s goal. A collision led to FC Cancerbero getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Roque Tello hit a great ball. Arnulfo Lartaun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Herminio Cordaro. FC Cancerbero's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 89 played minutes FC Cancerbero got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Matei. Saverio Rios recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saverio Rios in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herminio Cordaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saverio Rios's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herminio Cordaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Hoy Fútbol Club fully deserved thier win.
