Buchanan AFC's Bernardo Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Ledesma in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Providencia booed when Buchanan AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Betadur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melchor Gonzalez's late challenge caught a Providencia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melchor Gonzalez helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Providencia a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alberto Gizon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Buchanan AFC's Bernardo Cordearo. 0-1. If Leandro Ledesma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermegildo Llin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Ostadar having to interfere. If Ildefonso Gamus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Ledesma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Ermegildo Llin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buchanan AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Providencia the free kick. Ermegildo Llin kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Ildefonso Gamus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Ostadar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Providencia's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Gamus came free, but Osvaldo Ostadar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ildefonso Gamus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 44 played minutes Providencia got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Pacho. Ermegildo Llin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Providencia's zone, Ermegildo Llin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Ostadar came out of the goal and Ermegildo Llin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Providencia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leandro Ledesma made a kick off. Agustin Darien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Bernardo Cordearo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Cordearo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Ledesma, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When Leandro Ledesma came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Providencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leandro Ledesma couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Providencia's Leandro Ledesma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Cordearo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leandro Ledesma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Osvaldo Ostadar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Gamus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Ermegildo Llin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Ostadar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
