Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Maximo Maties got the match started through his kick off. Alfonso Ospetsu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Baldomero Elizardo made a huge save. In the 6th minute, Maximo Maties reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Baldomero Elizardo. The goal made the score 1-0. Edgardo Jordy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Omar Eufrasio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Athena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Guter to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tacuarendí AFC's goalkeeper Omar Eufrasio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cesar Fraco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baldomero Elizardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Maties, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Alfonso Ospetsu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute Edgardo Jordy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Eufrasio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baldomero Elizardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Ospetsu in the 34th minute. Eulalio Gonza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Nicolas Senio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Eufrasio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tacuarendí AFC's zone, Cesar Fraco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Omar Eufrasio came out of the goal and Cesar Fraco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgardo Jordy was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Athena's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Joseph came free, but Baldomero Elizardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match Athena got a corner. Tacuarendí AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolas Senio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Athena's Nicolas Senio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Omar Eufrasio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Maximo Maties scored 2-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Elizardo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 64th match minute, Tacuarendí AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Teodor to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Cesar Fraco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 67 played minutes Tacuarendí AFC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Beturian. After 68 minutes of play, Athena's Nicolas Senio made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Omar Eufrasio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Teodoro Gonza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Eufrasio having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Athena's Teodoro Gonza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Omar Eufrasio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 79 minutes of play, Athena's Cesar Fraco made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Omar Eufrasio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the game, Athena's Cesar Fraco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Omar Eufrasio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Omar Eufrasio made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Cesar Fraco sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute Maximo Maties shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Elizardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Edgardo Jordy took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Omar Eufrasio to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle sounded Athena left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Tacuarendí AFC.
