After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Cosme Sotil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gondra's supporters rose to their feet, but Cosme Sotil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luciano Baladi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the game, Gondra's Jacinto Marz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luciano Baladi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute, one of Gondra:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gondra. Gondra's Santiago Cristofor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Ospin in the 19th minute of play. Clodoveo Eate's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santiago Cristofor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Gondra's Santiago Cristofor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Ospin in the 25th minute of play. Jacinto Marz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Luciano Baladi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Marz might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luciano Baladi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Marz ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 47 minutes, Clodoveo Eate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clodoveo Eate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Gondra were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Candido Ospin made the kick off in the second half. Jacinto Marz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Luciano Baladi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santiago Cristofor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Ospin, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Candido Ospin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Isaias Christobal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Ferrer during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Isaias Christobal hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Romulo Ovando's late challenge caught a Gondra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Maidana was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 97th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gondra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
