If Raimundo Matthew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cha getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Dario Caitano hit a great ball. Amancio Pello hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Fernan Fonda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santiago Ruisko was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Luciano Soter fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Luciano Soter a yellow card for diving instead. Luciano Soter hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Maiorga to maneuver through the defense. Cha's Raul Azubeli couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Velez Sarsfield. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ermegildo Santo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Ruisko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Cha getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Florentino Bertran hit a great ball. Fernan Fonda took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santiago Ruisko. Santiago Ruisko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Velez Sarsfield fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Velez Sarsfield's Fernan Fonda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Velez Sarsfield were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ermegildo Santo made the kick off in the second half. Gualterio Ilixo kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ermegildo Santo in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Ruisko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Amado Bernal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd match minute, Cha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Caitano to maneuver through the defense. If Santo Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
